Journey world · Field guide
Winterlight
Low winter light touches a nearly monochrome world.
A small patch of gold can warm a whole gray afternoon.

History
Winterlight’s first painters traveled between settlements to record the few warm colors visible under the low sun. Their studies persuaded builders to orient public rooms toward brief patches of daylight, and the resulting sun rooms became neighborhood meeting places.
Economy
Architects export daylight studies and efficient heating layouts for places with limited sun. Painters, frame makers, and small indoor farms support the local markets, sharing the warmth of the same carefully planned buildings.
Rainbow Road IAS
Joined in Show Year 14 · The Low Sun Return. The Winter Paint Salon joined the tour when residents arranged its cars in a sun room and compared their finishes under the planet’s restrained palette.
A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

A moment on the road
“There is our patch of gold in the gray afternoon. Canary Yellow knew where to leave us.”
In this galaxy · The pause we need
Starlite’s warm window frames an immense quiet sky. Iridella opens a book, and nobody is required to improve the silence.
The white road extends farther than anyone can judge. Inside Starlite, the windows turn the cold landscape into a sequence of quiet pictures. Iridella opens her book but spends a long time on the same page. Nobody asks her to hurry.
A guide can rest and still be a guide. The convoy learns to leave a little silence around one another. When they start again, the glacier has changed almost imperceptibly, and the atlas gains a memory of waiting rather than another race to the next view.
