History
The mechanical sun was assembled to provide steady warmth after the old copper settlements outgrew their scattered furnaces. Its builders made the maintenance schedule public, and the gradual dimming before a service day became a cherished local evening.
Economy
Foundries recycle copper into coils, heat exchangers, and carefully labeled replacement parts for the sun. The planet trades precision thermal control rather than raw heat, with energy charges paying for apprenticeships and reserve components.

Joined in Show Year 22 · The Sun’s Rest Evening. The Dim-Sun Concourse welcomed the tour during a scheduled service interval, displaying each car beneath warm copper reflectors powered by stored daytime energy.
A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

A moment on the road
“The mechanical sun is nearing its evening rest. Even a magnificent machine needs care.”
In this galaxy · The repair that carries us
A useful imperfect repair gets the company moving again. Beneath the hot sky, the exhibition becomes a workshop where help matters more than polish.
A warm metallic rattle follows them into the workshop court. Nobody pretends it is music. The convoy stops, opens its tool rolls, and makes room for a repair. Iridella holds the lamp; its colors look almost ordinary beside the furnace.
When they depart, the repaired piece still shows the mark of the work. Starlite declines an offer to polish it away. That small seam belongs in the photograph too. Their atlas begins to hold evidence of care, not only flawless arrivals.
