History

The earliest settlements rested in sheltered seams between rose-colored ridges. After a hillside mirror brought winter sunlight into a shaded orchard, neighboring towns built a chain of reflectors and made access to daylight a public service.

Economy

Rosequartz exports precision mirror mounts and fruit grown in its redirected light. Its stonecutters sell weathered surface rock rather than quarrying the mountain faces that keep the valleys warm.

Rainbow Road IAS

Joined in Show Year 8 · The Returning Orchard Light. The Orchard Switchback Show joined the tour calendar when a convoy delivered replacement reflector bearings before the first spring blossom.

A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

Iridella’s arrival · Rosequartz

A moment on the road

“The mountains are warming to pink. We can park here and let the last light finish its work.”

In this galaxy · The light we notice

Timothy asks the convoy to switch off its headlights at The Resonant Keep. The crystals return their remembered glow, and Iridella asks which detail you saw first.

For a moment the road disappears. Starlite keeps his engine quiet, and a violet line gathers in the crystal above his windscreen. It is not a sign telling them where to go. It is the reflection of the passage they have already taken. Iridella opens the atlas and leaves a little space beside the drawing.

The visitor chooses a detail to carry onward: a cut in the stone, a pool of light, the shape of a waiting car. The first stamp settles into place. The keep does not become brighter. They have learned how to see it.
