Journey world · Field guide
Pale Harbor
A cold harbor opens between immense drifting blocks of ice.
The harbor entrance is a route, not a fixed doorway.

History
The harbor formed where drifting ice regularly opened a quiet lane between two cold currents. Its first pilots marked that moving lane with replaceable buoys, and their cooperative later built floating docks that could shift with the ice rather than resist it.
Economy
Pale Harbor transfers cold-sensitive freight in insulated containers and repairs the small vessels used between icebound towns. Pilotage fees maintain shared forecasts and movable docks, with reduced rates for essential food and heating deliveries.

Joined in Show Year 27 · The Wide Water Lane. The Drifting Dock Arrival joined the tour when harbor pilots brought its cars ashore on a sequence of floating platforms moved into place for one clear passage.
A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

A moment on the road
“The harbor entrance has moved with the ice. Follow the harbor keeper’s route, not yesterday’s picture.”
In this galaxy · The pause we need
Starlite’s warm window frames an immense quiet sky. Iridella opens a book, and nobody is required to improve the silence.
The white road extends farther than anyone can judge. Inside Starlite, the windows turn the cold landscape into a sequence of quiet pictures. Iridella opens her book but spends a long time on the same page. Nobody asks her to hurry.
A guide can rest and still be a guide. The convoy learns to leave a little silence around one another. When they start again, the glacier has changed almost imperceptibly, and the atlas gains a memory of waiting rather than another race to the next view.
