The best sound at the finish is everyone settling in.

History

Finishline began with a few benches at the end of a frequently traveled road. Drivers lingered to trade stories, and residents added kitchens, sheltered parking, and a noticeboard where arrivals could find companions for the journey home.

Economy

Guesthouses, vehicle cleaning bays, and shared kitchens support the settlement through small, steady payments. A cooperative parts counter buys only what its visiting mechanics actually need, keeping storage costs low and useful spares available.

Rainbow Road IAS

Joined in Show Year 6 · The Homeward Supper. The Engines-Off Gathering joined the tour as its first formal closing stop, giving every driver time to park, eat, and tell the part of the journey nobody else had seen.

A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

Iridella’s arrival · Finishline

A moment on the road

“We made it to the gathering place. The best sound here is everyone settling in together.”

In this galaxy · The joy we keep

Twuck takes a miniature orange track through a passage too small for the convoy. His return reminds the travelers that play can discover something serious planning missed.

Twuck disappears beneath a streamer and reappears at the head of a tiny parade. The serious route briefing dissolves into laughter. Iridella folds the map for a while; the next gateway will still be there after the celebration.

They collect no grand revelation in the plaza. They share a bright, unnecessary afternoon. Later, when the journey asks more of them, Starlite will remember this sound: little wheels, fluttering ribbons, and a gathering happy simply to have arrived.
