History

The first crossings were narrow stepping platforms placed between living coral towers. Generations of reef gardeners widened the network by encouraging growth around removable forms, leaving open channels for the water and the animals that use it.

Economy

Coralune sells reef restoration expertise and grows construction coral in separate nurseries rather than cutting the old formations. Passenger ferries, toolmakers, and family guesthouses share income from a tightly limited number of visitors.

Joined in Show Year 14 · The Pale Moon Spawning. The Reefway Showcase joined the tour as a stationary exhibition, with cars arriving by barge to avoid vibrations along the living bridges.

A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

Iridella’s arrival · Coralune

A moment on the road

“Mind the growing edge of the bridge. The coral is still adding rooms to its own exhibition.”

In this galaxy · The passage we share

A duck-built ferry takes the smallest vehicles while the tide reveals the submerged showground. The company discovers that safe passage means making a route for everyone.

At the water’s edge the convoy discovers that the crossing is too narrow for everyone to rush aboard. A little duck-shaped ferry keeps returning for the smallest travelers. Starlite waits with his wheels above the tide while Iridella helps arrange the queue.

The waves erase every tire mark on the beach. The crossing remains because someone comes back for the next passenger. Iridella draws the ferry into the atlas before she draws the palace; a world is remembered by its kindness as much as by its grandest building.
