History

An unusually slow afternoon once left travelers waiting here for a sunset that never seemed to arrive. They built a rest stop, then greenhouses, then a town that measures the day by the moving shadows of its honey-colored cliffs.

Economy

Shade farmers grow herbs in narrow bands of carefully managed light, trading them for metal tools and water pumps. Citrine lapidaries specialize in warm interior lighting, renting fixtures as often as selling them so broken pieces return for repair.

Rainbow Road IAS

Joined in Show Year 9 · The Long Afternoon. The Sundial Picnic became its first tour stop after the greenhouse guild offered weary drivers shade, fresh food, and a place to mend their cars.

A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

Iridella’s arrival · Citrine Vale

A moment on the road

“Citrine Vale has kept the afternoon for us. There is no need to hurry this conversation.”

In this galaxy · The light we notice

Timothy asks the convoy to switch off its headlights at The Resonant Keep. The crystals return their remembered glow, and Iridella asks which detail you saw first.

For a moment the road disappears. Starlite keeps his engine quiet, and a violet line gathers in the crystal above his windscreen. It is not a sign telling them where to go. It is the reflection of the passage they have already taken. Iridella opens the atlas and leaves a little space beside the drawing.

The visitor chooses a detail to carry onward: a cut in the stone, a pool of light, the shape of a waiting car. The first stamp settles into place. The keep does not become brighter. They have learned how to see it.
