Journey world · Field guide
Cinderwake
Black roads wind between volcanic ridges and glowing rivers.
The road is cool enough to touch; the hills are not.

History
The first black roads followed cooled lava channels that remained warm through the planet’s long nights. Road keepers learned to read the mountain’s small movements, gradually shifting their routes so settlements could coexist with an actively changing landscape.
Economy
Heat exchanges beneath the road shoulders power ceramic kilns and battery workshops. Cinderwake exports durable paving blocks and geothermal engineering, funding its monitoring stations with a modest charge on industrial heat use.
Rainbow Road IAS
Joined in Show Year 5 · The Cooling Flow. The Black Road Convoy joined the tour after local road keepers guided its cars across a newly cooled passage between two older settlements.
A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

A moment on the road
“The road beneath us has cooled. Donna Dew keeps a quiet refuge between the glowing hills.”
In this galaxy · The repair that carries us
A useful imperfect repair gets the company moving again. Beneath the hot sky, the exhibition becomes a workshop where help matters more than polish.
A warm metallic rattle follows them into the workshop court. Nobody pretends it is music. The convoy stops, opens its tool rolls, and makes room for a repair. Iridella holds the lamp; its colors look almost ordinary beside the furnace.
When they depart, the repaired piece still shows the mark of the work. Starlite declines an offer to polish it away. That small seam belongs in the photograph too. Their atlas begins to hold evidence of care, not only flawless arrivals.
