Basalt Gate
Dark geometric columns guard the approach to an ancient passage.
The columns make a doorway large enough for any arrival.

History
The geometric columns long sheltered a cool passage beneath the volcanic uplands. Travelers added removable steps and resting ledges over many generations, until the passage became a meeting place where the upland and canyon communities exchanged news.
Economy
Porters and small electric freight services move goods through the gate under a shared access agreement. Basalt masons work fallen columns into paving and foundations, keeping the standing formations outside commercial extraction.
Rainbow Road IAS
Joined in Show Year 7 · The Open Shadow. The Column Court Gathering first brought the tour through the ancient passage, establishing a reliable connection between the Ember Rift’s scattered roads.
A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

A moment on the road
“The basalt columns have made a doorway for the whole convoy. No one needs to arrive alone.”
In this galaxy · The repair that carries us
A useful imperfect repair gets the company moving again. Beneath the hot sky, the exhibition becomes a workshop where help matters more than polish.
A warm metallic rattle follows them into the workshop court. Nobody pretends it is music. The convoy stops, opens its tool rolls, and makes room for a repair. Iridella holds the lamp; its colors look almost ordinary beside the furnace.
When they depart, the repaired piece still shows the mark of the work. Starlite declines an offer to polish it away. That small seam belongs in the photograph too. Their atlas begins to hold evidence of care, not only flawless arrivals.
