History
Balloonia’s enormous balloons were first raised to carry garden seeds between isolated plateaus. Some crews stayed aloft to tend the floating seed beds, eventually forming slow-moving neighborhoods with regular landing days and very good views of one another’s laundry.
Economy
Balloon crews grow seedlings, deliver light freight, and service fabric envelopes in sheltered ground hangars. Passenger trips help pay for inspections, while shared gas-recovery equipment makes repairs less costly and reduces material waste.
Rainbow Road IAS
Joined in Show Year 17 · The Gentle Lift Season. The Tethered Sky Garage joined the tour as a ground exhibition beneath the balloon fleet, with a few carefully weighed miniature cars visiting the gardens above.
A fictional calendar kept by the Rainbow Road IAS. Year 1 begins with the first passage through the sandcastle on the beach in 1999; years count completed journeys inside its pocket of eternity, not elapsed Earth years. Local seasons identify each world’s first gathering. These histories belong to Leonida Larry’s imagined multiverse.

A moment on the road
“The next neighborhood is coming in on the breeze. Balloonia keeps a flexible idea of an address.”
In this galaxy · The possibilities we carry
The road offers several beautiful imagined endings. Iridella asks the visitor to keep one small detail rather than trying to possess the entire sky.
Here the road offers versions of every arrival: a different light, another turn, a castle seen from a window they never opened. Iridella watches a possible journey shimmer alongside their own. For a moment she wishes she could keep them all.
Starlite’s windows hold the places they actually shared. Their limits make them precious. Iridella closes the atlas on the roads not taken with a gentle hand, leaving room for a future visit. Choosing a memory does not require denying the others.
