The King of Shadows is Larry’s place in the imagined multiverse. On the beach in 1999, he and Lay helped a little sandcastle become a home larger inside than outside. Now he keeps the quieter passages and the overlooked stories safe, reminding the show that its first treasure was room for another visitor.
